Agartala: Oct 02: In a press conference held at West Agartala Police Station on Wednesday, Sadar Sub-Divisional Police Officer Debaprasad Roy reported a significant increase in theft cases in Agartala city. Following an investigation, the West Agartala Police Station successfully arrested seven individuals involved in these thefts.

Officer Roy explained that numerous theft incidents have been occurring in Agartala city for some time. After apprehending some of the suspects and interrogating them, the police identified additional individuals involved in the thefts. Consequently, the Officers-in-Charge (OICs) of the East and West police stations were directed to form a team to arrest the suspects. As a result, seven thieves were arrested on Tuesday. Various tools used for theft, along with some stolen goods, were recovered from the suspects. The arrested individuals, who are residents of different areas of Agartala city, are all members of the same gang. On Wednesday, the police presented the arrested individuals in court, seeking police remand.
