Mungiaakami police seized illegal contrabands worth Rs 50 Lakhs

Agartala: Oct 03: A significant quantity of phensedyl and escof syrup was seized by Mungiaakami police station while being smuggled in a truck loaded with stones. The police received information that a truck carrying a large quantity of drugs was entering Tripura from another state, with Agartala as its destination.

Acting on this information, the Mungiaakami police station set up an ambush at the 41-mile naka area. They successfully intercepted the truck, bearing the number NL 01 AF 6187, and recovered 72 boxes. Upon inspection, these boxes were found to contain a large quantity of phensedyl and escof syrup. Sub-divisional police officer Pannalal Sen stated that the seized drugs are valued at approximately 50 lakhs. He also mentioned that the police have arrested the driver and co-driver of the truck.
