The Vice President landed at Maharaja Bir Bikram Airport and was accorded a warm welcome by Indra Sena Reddy Nallu, Governor of Tripura, and Chief Minister Manik Saha. Rajya Sabha Member and state president of the Bharatiya Janata Party, Rajib Bhattacharjee, along with senior civil and security officials, were also present at the airport to receive the visiting dignitary.

Officials said the Vice President’s visit includes a series of official engagements aimed at strengthening interaction with educational institutions, community groups, and government representatives in the state.

During his stay, Radhakrishnan is scheduled to pay tribute to martyrs at the Albert Ekka War Memorial in Agartala. He will also visit the revered Tripura Sundari Temple, popularly known as Matabari, located in Udaipur.

One of the key highlights of the visit will be his participation in the 14th convocation ceremony of Tripura University on March 8, where he will address graduating students and faculty members.

In addition, the Vice President is expected to interact with members of Self-Help Groups (SHGs) and beneficiaries of the government’s “Lakhpati Didi” initiative at the International Fair Ground, Hapania, highlighting the role of women’s empowerment and rural livelihood initiatives.

Meanwhile, tight security arrangements have been put in place across Agartala and other venues where the Vice President is scheduled to attend programmes. Security personnel have been deployed in large numbers to ensure smooth movement and safety during the high-profile visit.

The state administration has also made elaborate logistical arrangements to ensure the successful conduct of all scheduled events during the Vice President’s stay in Tripura.
