Shortly after, the women jawans observed a group of around 30-40 individuals approaching the border with bamboo sticks, sharp weapons, and sugar. Despite the danger, the women jawans attempted to stop the smugglers, who then attacked them. In response, the jawans fired one round from their pump-action guns.

The smugglers fled the scene, abandoning the drugs and sugar. The operation resulted in the recovery of 16 kg of cannabis and a large quantity of sugar.

IG of BSF Tripura Frontier, S Patel Piyush Purushottam Das, praised the courageous act, noting that over 400 dedicated women jawans are guarding the border in Tripura.
