According to locals, the bamboo structure serves as the only means of crossing a stretch that connects a substantial number of households in the area. Villagers said several interior roads in the constituency remain in poor condition, and in some places temporary bamboo platforms have replaced permanent culverts.

Residents alleged that the bamboo bridge has been in use for a prolonged period, despite repeated appeals for permanent infrastructure. “We have to depend on a bamboo structure to cross every day. There have been instances of people slipping and getting injured while using it,” a villager claimed.

They further stated that the makeshift arrangement becomes particularly risky during the monsoon season, when water levels rise and the bamboo structure turns slippery and unstable. Villagers fear that a major accident could occur if immediate steps are not taken to replace it with a concrete culvert.

Locals said they have repeatedly approached the concerned authorities and urged them to construct a permanent bridge to ensure safe and reliable connectivity. However, they alleged that no concrete action has been initiated so far.

Some residents also expressed dissatisfaction over what they described as uneven development in the constituency, claiming that interior areas continue to struggle with basic infrastructure such as roads and bridges.

There was no immediate response from officials of the Public Works Department or the district administration regarding the allegations. Villagers maintained that improved infrastructure is essential to ensure safe mobility and better living conditions in rural areas.
