Agartala: Jan 27: BJP’s candidate list will be announced today. The candidate list will be sealed after the last meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the afternoon. However, the announcement is likely to be made around 7 pm. Sources say that several MLAs or BJP leaders may be dropped from the candidate list, including Assembly Speaker Ratan Chakraborty, MLAs Krishnadhan Das, Rebati Mohan Das, Biplab Kumar Ghosh, Arun Chandra Bhowmik and Swapna Das Pal. But the names of Navadal Banik from Bishalgarh, Papia Chakraborty from Khairpur, Sanjay Kumar Das from Surma, Kishore Kumar Das from Pratapgarh, Kishore Barman from Sonamura, Abhishek Dev Roy from Matabari are emerging as new faces. But this time it may be a bird’s eye battle between Sudip Roy Barman and Biplab Kumar Dev in the 06 Agartala Assembly Constituency.
