Bangladeshi Citizen and Indian Broker Detained at India-Bangladesh Border in Sabroom

Agartala: May 19: Authorities have detained two individuals while attempting to cross the India-Bangladesh border illegally. Acting on confidential intelligence, personnel from the Sabroom Police and the 114 Border Security Force intercepted the duo in the Anand Para Nazrul Park area late at night.

The individuals were identified as Rubel Chandra Das, a resident of Feni, Bangladesh, and Dulal Das, a resident of Purbasthali in Purba Bardhaman district, West Bengal, India. Reports indicate that they were crossing into India through the Sabroom border from Ramgarh Upazila in Khagrachari district, Bangladesh.

Following their apprehension, authorities filed a formal case against them and initiated a detailed investigation. Further inquiries are expected to shed light on the circumstances surrounding the attempted crossing.
