Agartala: June 26: The first day of the weeklong Kharchi puja started here, the royal scion and TIPRA Motha chief Pradyot Kishore Deb Barman performing puja at the temple dedicated to 14 deities in Agartala today.

According to rituals, the first puja is performed by the members of the royal family of state and the first day Pradyot offered prayers at the temple. “ Today I came and prayed for my people and the state. I prayed for peace, prosperity and development. Kharchi a part of our culture and identity is being celebrated since decades and it is my responsibility to carry forward this tradition”, Pradyot said.
