Agartala: Dec 01: Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha recently remarked that Bangladesh heavily relies on India for its functioning, suggesting that the country cannot operate effectively without India’s support. He made these statements while attending a blood donation camp organized by the BJP Doctors’ Cell at Agartala IGM Hospital. The event was held on Sunday, with prominent attendees including Rajya Sabha MP Rajeev Bhattacharya and Agartala Municipal Corporation Mayor Deepak Majumdar.

During his speech at the camp, Dr. Saha expressed his concern about the persecution of the Hindu minority community in Bangladesh, calling it intolerable. He emphasized that if the Bangladesh government does not put an immediate stop to such persecution, it will not be accepted. His comments reflect ongoing tensions regarding the treatment of religious minorities in Bangladesh, particularly Hindus, who have faced violence and discrimination in various incidents in recent years.

The blood donation camp, which aimed to fulfill a social responsibility, saw significant participation from doctors across the state. Approximately 105 doctors from eight districts volunteered to donate blood, showcasing the commitment of the medical community to the welfare of others. Dr. Saha thanked the BJP Doctors’ Cell for organizing the event, which he deemed as an important initiative for social good.

This camp not only served as a platform for discussing health-related issues but also provided an opportunity to highlight political concerns, particularly regarding Bangladesh’s internal issues and its relationship with India. The Chief Minister’s statements reflect his stance on both humanitarian issues and India-Bangladesh relations, underscoring the significant role India plays in the region.
