Agartala, September 11: Tripura government employees will be offered enhanced insurance, healthcare, banking and credit facilities under a new customised salary account scheme introduced by Punjab National Bank (PNB) in collaboration with the state government.
The scheme was formalised through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed by Tripura Finance Department Secretary Dr Parshant Kumar Goyal and PNB General Manager and Guwahati Zone Zonal Head Bijender Singh.
PNB Agartala DGM and Circle Head Rituraj Krishna and CAC Head Alok Priydarshi were present during the signing.
The bank said the package has been designed according to different salary categories and aims to combine routine banking services with insurance protection and financial assistance.
Employees covered under the scheme will get Personal Accidental Death Insurance of up to Rs 1.50 crore, while Air Accidental Insurance will be available up to Rs 3 crore. Permanent Total Disability cover will also be provided up to Rs 1.50 crore.
Additional provisions have been included for higher education, girl-child marriage and emergency-related financial needs, PNB said.
The salary accounts will not require customers to maintain a minimum balance. The package also includes cashless annual health check-ups, tele-consultation services and hospicash benefits as part of its health and wellness offerings.
Employees can also avail themselves of an instant overdraft facility equivalent to up to twice their average net salary, subject to a ceiling of Rs 2 lakh.
Other banking benefits include free and unlimited Demand Drafts and cheque books, locker concessions and a waiver of annual maintenance charges for Demat accounts, as per applicable terms.
The scheme extends certain benefits to employees’ families as well. Eligible family members can open zero-balance accounts and avail themselves of specified insurance and free transaction facilities.
PNB will also offer preferential benefits on housing, vehicle, education and personal loans to employees covered under the arrangement. RuPay debit and credit cards will also be available under the package.
The bank said the partnership is aimed at creating a single, customised financial services platform for Tripura government employees, covering salary banking, insurance, healthcare and credit requirements for employees and their families.
