Various organizations complained to the administration about the eviction campaign in Raiabari

Last May 25, seven families who had been living in Udaipur’s Raiabari were inhumanely evicted by the forest department and state power with bulldozers. The eviction campaign was launched without making arrangements for their resettlement It has been strongly condemned by Tripura People’s Party, CPIM Liberation, SUCI and Ganamanch.
Leaders of these organizations told a press conference at Agartala Press Club on Sunday

In 1991, 19 families were evicted from Raiabari due to terrorist attacks The then government gave them resettlement there in writing Government land is provided for construction of houses, rubber plantations, electricity connection and drinking water But in 2011, the government gave a new Patra And without making arrangements for their resettlement, they started the eviction campaign It is strongly condemned by the organizers of the press conference The leaders of the organizations said this in a press conference at the Agartala Press Club on Sunday Subrata Bhowmik, Sanjay Chowdhury, Laxman Roy, K Dhirendra Singh were present They demanded that the government should take initiatives to provide compensation to the seven evicted families and resettle them Otherwise they will be forced to go on strike
