Two More Accused Arrested in Shubhankar Saha Murder Case

Agartala: Sept 26: Amtali police have arrested two additional suspects in connection with the murder of Shubhankar Saha. This brings the total number of arrests to four out of the six individuals implicated in the case. According to Amtali police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Shrikant Bardhan, the arrested individuals will be presented in court to seek police remand.

The incident occurred on September 17, when a group of six individuals attacked Shubhankar Saha with sharp weapons in the Kanchan Nagar area under Amtali police station. Shubhankar Saha succumbed to his injuries on September 18 while receiving treatment at GB Hospital. Following the incident, Amtali police registered a case and arrested Bapon Chakraborty on September 18. Subsequently, two more suspects were apprehended.

Based on confidential information, Amtali police arrested Shantanu Sen and Jayanta Debnath on Wednesday. After completing the necessary legal formalities, they were sent to court.

On Thursday afternoon, OC Shrikant Bardhan briefed the media, stating that four of the six accused have been arrested. One of the suspects is currently in judicial custody, while the remaining three are in police custody. Efforts are ongoing to apprehend the remaining suspects.
