Agartala: Dec 09: A two-day training program on safety and security for engineers and electricity workers of all levels was organized on December 9th and 10th with the support of Tripura Power Transmission Limited and Power Grid. During the event, the Tripura Power Transmission Limited’s safety manual and safety infographics were unveiled. Additionally, tools and equipment were distributed among the electricity workers.
The Minister of Electricity, Ratan Lal Nath, was the chief guest at the event. In his speech, he stated that there are no load shedding issues in the state now. The employees of the electricity corporation are providing excellent services. He commended the efforts of the electricity workers during the floods in August, but emphasized the importance of safety over haste. He warned that rushing could lead to life-threatening situations. The minister stressed the need for employees to carry out their duties carefully and healthily to avoid risks. He further emphasized the importance of adhering to safety and security guidelines for those involved in electricity services. He instructed the workers to meticulously check all safety equipment, such as gloves, helmets, safety belts, discharge rods, and safety shoes, before using them. Any defects should be immediately reported to the authorities.
The Minister also announced that the electricity corporation is procuring modern machinery to minimize risks for the employees. These machines will be used by the electricity workers in their daily tasks. The General Manager of TPTL, Ranjan Debbarman, was also present at the event.
