Despite allegations of farce during the West Tripura Lok Sabha seat polls and the Ramnagar by-election, the Election Commission has been proactive. The opposition has submitted several complaints, prompting a delegation from the Indi Alliance to meet with the Chief Electoral Officer of Tripura and the Returning Officer for the West Tripura Lok Sabha Elections. Their demand: swift action on all complaints.

Dr. Vishal Kumar, while visiting various polling stations, reported that the polling process had been peaceful in most places since morning. However, the opposition claimed incidents of polling agent mistreatment and voter obstruction at specific locations. The Election Commission diligently investigated these complaints and took appropriate action. Dr. Kumar expressed hope that voters would be satisfied and encouraged to participate in large numbers. He also affirmed that the commission collaborates fully with all political parties.

On this day, the commission’s response included the dismissal of two poll workers based on proven allegations and the arrest of two individuals for obstructing voters. Additionally, complaints related to vote farce from Boxanagar and Mohanpur were thoroughly examined and addressed.
