Police in Tripura Arrest 12 Bangladeshi Citizens

Agartala: August 04: In a joint operation conducted by the West Agartala Police Station, Tripura State Rifles (TSR), and Border Security Force (BSF), 12 Bangladeshi citizens were apprehended in the Ramnagar border area of Agartala. The group includes 3 women and 9 men.

Recent reports indicate an increase in illegal entries by Bangladeshi citizens through various borders into the state. A police officer from West Agartala Police Station confirmed that a case has been registered against the detained individuals, and an investigation is underway. The arrested individuals are scheduled to be presented in court today. Authorities have stated that similar operations will continue in the future to address this issue.

A case has been registered against all the arrested individuals under specific sections of new BNS Law, Passport Act and Foreigner Act. They will be produced before the court seeking police remand for further interrogation
