New cargo complex at Maharaja Bir Bikram Airport Inaugurated

Agartala April 28: Finally the journey of the new cargo building with all new facilities started. Cargo services at MBB airport were suspended for several months. The annual capacity is 40,150 metric tons. It has various facilities including cold storage, strong room, air-conditioned office rooms. This cargo complex has been built at an estimated cost of 17 crore rupees.

It was inaugurated at the airport on Friday. State Transport Minister Sushanta Chowdhury, Secretary of the Department UK Chakma, Commissioner of the Department of Transport, District Magistrate of West District, Director of Airport Authority and others were present. On this day, Minister Sushant Chowdhury said that after the formation of the Modi government, importance has been laid on strengthening the transport system of Tripura. Communication with foreign countries has been established through rail-air services. The best airport is being built in the north-eastern region at a cost of Rs 500 crore. The minister also said that Agartala-Chittagong new international flight service will be launched in the first week of June. He also said that the statue of Maharaja Bir Bikram will be installed in front of the new terminal building soon. Sushanta said that the development process will be taken forward for the people. Prime Minister’s Ek Tripura to build a better Tripura will be implemented successfully. Importers and exporters will also benefit from the launch of this state-of-the-art international standard cargo complex. Besides, employment opportunities will be created when international flights are launched.
