Governor inaugurates blood donation camp at Shanti Sangha

Tripura Governor Indra Sena Reddy Nallu on Tuesday morning inaugurated a blood donation camp organized on the occasion of the Golden Jubilee celebrations of Shanti Sangha Club at Shanti Palli, A.D. Nagar, Agartala. The event marked 50 years of the club’s service and commitment to social welfare and community development.

Speaking at the inaugural programme, Governor Nallu lauded Shanti Sangha Club for its longstanding contribution to society, particularly in the areas of social service, youth engagement, and humanitarian initiatives. He described blood donation as one of the noblest acts of service, emphasizing that a single unit of blood can save multiple lives and strengthen the healthcare system.

The Governor urged citizens, especially young people, to actively participate in blood donation drives and cultivate a spirit of volunteerism. He highlighted the importance of regular blood donation to meet emergency medical needs and ensure adequate blood reserves in hospitals across the state.

Several dignitaries, local leaders, club members, and residents of the area attended the programme. The blood donation camp witnessed enthusiastic participation from volunteers, reflecting strong community support for the initiative. Medical teams were deployed at the venue to ensure safe and smooth collection of blood, following all prescribed health protocols.

Office bearers of Shanti Sangha Club recalled the organization’s journey over the past five decades, highlighting its role in organizing cultural events, sports activities, health camps, and relief work during times of need. They reaffirmed their commitment to continue working for the welfare of society in the years to come.

The Golden Jubilee celebration served not only as a moment of pride for the club but also as a platform to promote social responsibility and compassion. The successful organization of the blood donation camp added meaningful significance to the milestone event, reinforcing the message of service before self.
