Agartala June 28: Child health program to treat congenital cleft lip and heart problems in children from now on in the state. Earlier these were done from outside the state. Henceforth there is no need to go outside the state for these health services. This service will be available in Tripura state. This treatment is done from the exchequer of the Government of India.
The Secretary of the Department of Health said this in a press conference at the conference hall of NHM on Wednesday. Debashish Bose. Director of National Health Mission Tripura present at the organized press conference. Subhashis Debbarma said that National Health Mission is conducting various programs of child health activities. These include problems that children have from birth. These create problems for children’s livelihood. Measures are taken to cure children from those diseases. There are a total of 48 child health program teams across the state.
Each has one female and one male medical officer. Besides, there is one pharmacist, one auxiliary nurse. who visit various Anganwadi centers and schools to identify children with congenital problems. Then the children were brought to the hospital and given medical services. Thus far 8 lakh 7 thousand 350 children have been physically examined to see if they have any birth defects. Of these, 701 people have been identified and underwent surgery. All the beneficiaries are from poor families. Children’s families are very happy to get this facility. As a result of solving this problem, children no longer have to live as a burden in society. And this service included a 10-year-old child. Who has had open heart surgery. The leader of this team was Kanak Narayan Bhattacharya. The first cathlab was launched at GB Hospital and AGMC under the leadership of Dr. Kanak Narayan Bhattacharya. He said that he has been providing services in the field of heart disease with sincerity.
