Agartala: Mar 09: BJP National President J.P. Nadda, addressing a massive rally in Agartala on Sunday, highlighted the transformative political culture in India under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership. Nadda emphasized that the anti-incumbency sentiment, which once dominated Indian politics, has been replaced by a pro-incumbency attitude due to the BJP’s consistent performance in elections. The party’s victories in successive elections—from 17 crore votes in 2014 to nearly 24 crore votes in 2024—reflect the trust people have placed in the BJP, he said.
The BJP leader underscored the party’s electoral successes across multiple states, including Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Haryana, and Tripura. He attributed these victories to the party’s commitment to fulfilling the aspirations of the people, not out of a desire for power, but out of a dedication to public service. Referring to Prime Minister Modi as a ‘Pradhan Sevak’ (Prime Servant), Nadda stressed that the BJP’s focus is on serving the people, not on political ambition.
During the rally, Nadda announced two new initiatives for the empowerment of girls in Tripura: the Mukhyamantri Balika Samriddhi Yojana (MBSJ), which offers financial support for girls born to Below Poverty Line families, and the Mukhyamantri Kanya Atmanirbhar Yojana (MKAY), which provides scooties to 140 meritorious girl students.
In his speech, Nadda also lauded the BJP-led government’s achievements in Tripura, including a 20% drop in crime rates, digital efficiency with 29 lakh e-files processed, and a five-fold increase in tax devolution from the Centre. He also highlighted the success of the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana, which benefited 24 lakh people in Tripura. Nadda praised Chief Minister Manik Saha for the state’s development, peace, and welfare programs, including the promotion of organic farming.
