Agartala: Sept 03: In a significant development, the Central Government and the Tripura Government are set to sign a peace agreement with the banned organizations NLFT and ATTF tomorrow, Wednesday. The agreement aims to establish peace in the North-East, particularly in Tripura.
Tripura Chief Minister Professor (Dr.) Manik Saha has rushed to Delhi to attend the signing of the memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the Government of India, the Government of Tripura, and representatives of NLFT and ATTF.
The MoU signing will take place in the presence of Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Tripura Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha, and senior officials of the Tripura Government Home Department.
The Union Home Ministry has been working tirelessly to fulfill Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a developed Northeast, free from extremism, violence, and conflict. The government has signed 12 important agreements to bring peace and prosperity to the region, with three related to Tripura.
The signing of these agreements has led to the surrender of around 10,000 people, who have given up arms and joined the mainstream. This is seen as a significant achievement in the government’s efforts to bring peace to the region.
