During the visit, the Governor interacted with officials, caregivers and the children housed in the facility to understand the existing conditions and the services being provided. He reviewed the accommodation arrangements, health facilities, educational support systems, vocational training programmes and recreational activities available for the juveniles.

Governor Nallu emphasised the importance of maintaining a secure, humane and rehabilitative environment in all child-care institutions. He highlighted that juveniles in conflict with the law should be given opportunities for correction and reintegration rather than being viewed through a punitive lens. According to officials present, the Governor also instructed the administration to focus on counselling support, mental well-being, and skill development efforts so that children could rebuild their lives positively once released.

At the Temporary Detention Centre, the Governor inspected the infrastructure, assessed the security arrangements and took stock of the daily management practices. He asked the authorities to ensure cleanliness, adequate nutrition, and timely medical attention for all detainees. He also stressed the need for coordinated efforts between police, social welfare departments, and judicial authorities to ensure that all procedures relating to minors are handled sensitively and within legal frameworks.

Officials briefed the Governor about the ongoing initiatives under the Juvenile Justice system, challenges faced by the staff, and areas where further improvement is required. The Governor assured that the state government would extend all necessary support to strengthen child-protection mechanisms.

His visit concluded with a directive to prepare a comprehensive report on the immediate needs of both facilities so that necessary upgrades and reforms can be initiated promptly.
