New Delhi, July 17 — Governor of Tripura, Indra Sena Reddy Nallu, paid a courtesy visit to Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Shri Nitin Gadkari, at his residence in New Delhi on Wednesday morning.

The meeting was held in a cordial atmosphere, where both leaders exchanged views on matters of mutual interest, including infrastructure development and ongoing road and highway projects. Although it was a formal courtesy call, the conversation is believed to have touched upon key issues related to connectivity and logistics in the northeastern region, particularly in Tripura.

Governor Reddy, who assumed office in Tripura earlier this year, has been actively engaging with central ministries to strengthen coordination and ensure greater development support for the state. His interaction with Union Minister Gadkari comes at a time when the Centre is placing strong emphasis on enhancing connectivity in the Northeast through ambitious road and highway infrastructure projects.

Sources indicated that the Governor briefed the Minister about the ongoing road works and development priorities in Tripura, and also appreciated the Centre’s efforts under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to boost transportation networks in the region.

Minister Gadkari, known for spearheading rapid infrastructure expansion across the country, reaffirmed the Centre’s commitment to improving road connectivity in the Northeast and assured continued support for Tripura’s development needs.

This visit underscores the ongoing cooperation between the Centre and the states to accelerate infrastructure growth and strengthen regional connectivity — a key factor in driving economic and social development in border and remote areas like Tripura.

Officials from both offices described the meeting as “positive and constructive,” highlighting the importance of such engagements in aligning state and central development agendas.
