In a press conference held on Saturday, West District Superintendent of Police Dr. Kiran Kumar K. revealed that the accused, identified as Akash Dey, Lipi Begum, Sayan Sarkar, and Krishna Namah, are all residents of the city. According to the police, the group is suspected of carrying out multiple thefts and robberies across the city over an extended period.

The breakthrough came after investigators gathered critical information during the inquiry, allowing them to pinpoint the suspects’ locations and subsequently arrest them. The stolen valuables, including gold ornaments and cash, have been successfully recovered.

The suspects are currently facing several charges and are undergoing interrogation. Authorities are also exploring whether other individuals were involved in the incident.

The series of thefts in the city has left residents feeling uneasy, prompting the police administration to pledge enhanced surveillance measures to improve overall security.
