Finance Minister laid foundation stone for Mata Tripura Sundari Open University

Agartala: Mar 02: A major milestone in the field of education was marked on Sunday with the land worship and foundation stone laying ceremony for the Mata Tripura Sundari Open University in Udaipur’s Chandrapur area. The university, which will be constructed at an estimated cost of 50 crore rupees, is expected to be a game-changer in providing accessible education across the region.

The event was graced by the Finance Minister, Pranjit Singh Roy, who was the chief guest for the ceremony. Minister Shukla Charan Noatia, MLA Abhishek Debroy, Rishiraj Maharaj, and Hemant Goel, Chairman of the university’s sponsoring body, were also present at the event, alongside several other notable figures.

In his speech, Finance Minister Pranjit Singh Roy highlighted that the establishment of Mata Tripura Sundari Open University would be a significant leap in the state’s education sector. He emphasized that open universities have the potential to make education more accessible, particularly for students who might otherwise face barriers to traditional learning systems. By opening new avenues for higher education, this initiative will provide students across the state with better opportunities to pursue their academic goals.

The ceremony was held in the Chandrapur Colony, which falls under the Matabari assembly constituency, a region known for its cultural and religious significance. Dignitaries present at the event expressed that this project marks a crucial step towards improving the quality of education in Tripura. The Mata Tripura Sundari Open University is expected to enhance the state’s educational infrastructure and help more students gain the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in an increasingly competitive world.

The foundation stone laying ceremony has sparked hopes for a brighter educational future in Tripura, with the promise of greater opportunities for students across the state.
