Agartala, July 13 — As the countdown to Durga Puja begins, the festive spirit has already taken hold in Shibnagar under the Banamalipur Assembly Constituency. On Sunday, the renowned Deshbandhu Chittaranjan Club officially unveiled its 2025 Puja theme — “Humble Tribute to the Martyrs” — marking the start of pre-Puja celebrations.
The theme pays homage to India’s revolutionary heroes, aiming to spark patriotism through symbolic artistry and cultural expression. The event was attended by Rajya Sabha MP and BJP State President Rajib Bhattacharjee, who praised the club’s thoughtful concept and its contribution to Tripura’s evolving festive culture.
In his address, Bhattacharjee highlighted the recent success of Operation Sindoor and lauded the Indian Armed Forces for their precision strikes on terror targets in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. He credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh for their strong leadership.
“Our armed forces have once again showcased bravery and precision, eliminating threats across the border. We salute their courage and the leadership behind this mission,” he said.
Bhattacharjee also applauded Tripura’s peaceful Durga Puja celebrations in recent years, attributing the success to the Manik Saha-led state government. “Tripura’s club culture has matured. It is no longer about power but about service and responsibility,” he remarked.
As part of its community outreach, the club organized a free health camp, drawing appreciation from residents. Bhattacharjee visited the camp personally, interacting with attendees and commending the initiative.
Later in the day, the BJP leader toured Paschimpara on Chittaranjan Mosque Road, where he listened to citizens’ concerns and assured prompt action on pressing civic issues, reinforcing his commitment to responsive governance and grassroots engagement.
