Dead body of Tripura youth recovered in Bangladesh

Agartala, July 27: Body of Tripura youth recovered in Bangladesh. The deceased’s brother identified him. The body will be handed over to the family after the post-mortem on Friday. The recovery of the dead body of Ashish Baidya (45), son of Sadhan Baidya, a resident of Nilua area in South Tripura district, has created a sensation.

According to Belonia police station, Ashish Baidya, a bicycle mechanic by profession, was missing since Wednesday. While patrolling the border on Thursday morning, BSF soldiers found a dead body lying in Chagalnaia Jashpur area of Feni district of Bangladesh. Immediately the matter was reported to BGB by BSF. After that, the border guards of the two countries sat in a flag meeting with the body.

 

On behalf of India, BSF Commander Rakesh Thakur and BGB Jashpur Commander Subedar Hasibur Rahman, Chhagalnaya Police Station OC Sudip Roy, Rishum Out Post-Outpost Police Station Incharge Chakla Jamadia etc. were present in that meeting. It was decided through discussion in the meeting that the body should be reported to the local police station as it was found in Bangladesh. He accordingly sent a report to the BGB Chagalnaya police station and the police came and recovered the dead body and took it to Feni General Hospital for post-mortem.

 

Belonia police also said that the deceased’s brother Bhutt Baidya identified the body. The body will be handed over to the family after the post-mortem tomorrow.

 

The recovery of the dead body has caused a stir in Nilua area. Because, how did Ashish go to Bangladesh and did he commit suicide there, or was he killed and his body thrown in Bangladesh, many questions are running in the minds of the police and common people. However, it has not been possible to get any statements from the family members of the deceased till now. It is not yet clear what suspicions have crept into their minds.
