Congress to Stage Sit-in Protest Against Terrorism and Women’s Harassment in Tripura

Agartala: Sept 13: There’s a grave law and order situation in Tripura. Therefore, on the 23rd of September, the Congress will be staging a sit-in protest at the police headquarters against terrorism and women’s harassment. This was announced by the state Congress president, Ashish Kumar Saha, at a press conference today. Present at today’s press conference were All India Congress Committee secretary Christopher Tilok, MLA Sudip Roy Barman, and others.

All India Congress Committee secretary Christopher Tilok said that there’s a grave law and order situation in Tripura. The administration is indifferent towards providing relief materials and rehabilitation to those affected by the recent floods.

He further stated that the BJP has been plundering democracy in the state’s panchayat elections. Many Congress workers have been injured. There’s no democracy in the state. The BJP candidates have forcibly won all the seats in the panchayat. Moreover, BJP workers and supporters have prevented people from voting. But the police are not playing a neutral role. Additionally, women are being harassed every day. Women are not safe in the state. In protest against this, the Congress will be staging a sit-in protest at the police headquarters against terrorism and women’s harassment on the 23rd of September.
