Agartala, March 8: On the occasion of the BJP government’s second anniversary in Tripura, Congress MLA Sudip Roy Barman raised concerns about the ruling party’s approach to organizing public rallies and its governance. Speaking at the Pradesh Congress office, he alleged that the BJP was using fear and coercion to ensure attendance at their public rally, suggesting a decline in public interest.

Roy Barman questioned the focus of the BJP’s anniversary celebrations, pointing out that despite being in power for seven years, the party’s banners and hoardings emphasized only the completion of two years. He speculated that this might be an attempt at personal glorification rather than a reflection of the government’s achievements.

Responding to remarks by the Chief Minister about opposition parties being blind to development, Roy Barman criticized the BJP government, claiming that the country is facing challenges in various sectors and that public trust in the government is eroding. He also expressed concerns about the ruling party’s focus on historical narratives, which he argued comes at the expense of addressing the nation’s future.

Highlighting national and state-level issues, Roy Barman contrasted the Congress party’s vision, led by Rahul Gandhi, with the BJP’s approach. He accused the ruling party of exploiting religious sentiments to maintain power. His statements have sparked political debates in Tripura, with questions being raised about the effectiveness and transparency of the current administration.
