Speaking to the media after the meeting, Dr. Saha emphasized the need to build the reputation of the Dental College from the ground up. “If we can build the name and fame of the Dental College from the beginning, people from across the country will come to know about it,” he said, urging officials to work with seriousness and sincerity to achieve this goal.

The Chief Minister described Agartala Government Dental College as a “dream project” of the state government, inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He also noted that the Ministry of DoNER has already sanctioned funds for constructing an additional building to support the institution’s expansion.

Among the other key topics discussed were hostel infrastructure, particularly for MDS students and interns. Dr. Saha directed officials to prioritize timely construction and adequate accommodation facilities to ensure a smooth academic environment. Currently, the college has 63 students in their second year of study.

The Chief Minister also mentioned plans to appoint a chairman for the Rogi Kalyan Samiti to enhance patient welfare initiatives.

Health Secretary Kiran Gitte, Director Dr. Tapan Kumar Majumder, and other senior health department officials were present during the meeting.

The review reflects the government’s commitment to developing Agartala Government Dental College into a center of excellence for dental education and patient care in the Northeast region.
