Agartala, April 9: Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha on Thursday expressed strong confidence in the Bharatiya Janata Party’s prospects in the upcoming Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) elections, asserting that the party will secure a decisive victory across all 28 seats.

Addressing a massive rally at Kathalia Bazar under the Birchandranagar–Kalsi constituency in support of BJP candidate Sanjeev Reang, the Chief Minister said the mood in the ADC areas clearly favors the BJP. He stated that the party’s decision to contest alone has been welcomed by the people, who are seeking a strong and clear alternative in the council.

Dr. Saha alleged that while elections should be conducted in a festive and democratic atmosphere, attempts are being made by Tipra Motha to create fear and tension among voters. He urged people to remain vigilant and not fall prey to intimidation or misinformation.

Criticizing the Tipra Motha’s five-year tenure in the ADC, the Chief Minister accused the party of failing to deliver development and alleged widespread corruption. He claimed that funds meant for tribal welfare were misused, and that the electorate is now ready to respond through the ballot box.

Calling upon voters to remain fearless and united, Dr. Saha appealed to them to cast their votes in favor of the BJP on April 12. During the rally, and in the presence of Finance Minister Pranajit Singh Roy, around 50 voters reportedly joined the BJP, reflecting growing support for the party.

Earlier, at an election meeting in Behalabari under the Halahali–Asharambari constituency, the Chief Minister said that if voted to power, the BJP would bring transformative changes to tribal areas. He emphasized the need for leadership that genuinely understands and addresses the concerns of the poor.

Praising Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Dr. Saha said the Prime Minister remains committed to tribal development and welfare. In separate rallies, he also accused Tipra Motha of misleading people through false promises and disruptive tactics.

Reiterating his appeal, the Chief Minister urged voters to create history on April 12 by ensuring a decisive mandate for the BJP in the ADC elections.
