Agartala: Feb 24: A hush-hush meeting was held on Friday at the state election office of the BJP with the candidates of various assembly constituencies. Before the counting of votes, this important meeting was attended by the BJP state president Dr. Mahesh Sharma, BJP State Electoral Officer Mahendra Singh, BJP State President, Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha, Deputy Chief Minister Jishnu Dev Varma and other leaders.
The meeting discussed in details the possible outcome and vote counting issues. In the meeting, there was a discussion about the ideas of the candidates of various assembly constituencies. Everyone has expressed their opinion. Giving detailed information about this meeting on Friday, Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha said that after the election, the review meeting with the party candidates of all the assembly constituencies of the state was conducted to find out whether there was any deficiency.
The Chief Minister said that this is the first time in the history of the state that the polling of assembly elections has been completed peacefully without ragging and cheating. He strongly criticized the previous left government and said there was no peaceful election during their tenure. He termed this election as traditional. A decision was taken from the meeting to take all necessary measures for the party leaders and workers to ensure that the counting of votes and the results are conducted in a free and peaceful manner. All are requested to be vigilant so that no violent activities takes place anywhere in view of the result. Political experts believe that this high-level important meeting of the BJP, just before the announcement of the results, is very significant.
