Agartala: Apr 06: Along with the whole nation on Thursday BJP Tripura also celebrated the 43rd Foundation Day of the saffron party across the state through various programs.
The main program was organized at the BJP headquarters in Agartala where Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha, party president Rajib Bhattacharjee, Minister Sudhangshu Das and other senior leaders were present as they raised the party flag.
They also paid floral tribute to the founder leaders including Syama Prasad Mookerjee and Deendayal Upadhyaya who led the party previously known as Bhatitya Jana Sangh.
The leaders also watched the address of PM Narendra Modi on the day.
Meanwhile, BJP also organized a mega blood donation in Agartala as part of its foundation day celebration.
Later speaking to media the BJP state president Rajib Bhattacharjee said that with the BJP’s 43rd Foundation Day celebration the party is also starting its activities focused towards winning the 2024 Parliament election and is activating its workers so that the party can win all 25 Lok Sabha seat of the Northeast region including the two in Tripura and gift them to Prime Minister Narendra Modi who has played the most crucial role in the development of this region which was deprived for long.
Bhattacharjee said that recently he along with few other senior leaders of the state had attended a crucial meeting a Guwahati in which representatives of the saffron party from all the Northeastern states had participated and had decided to work towards winning all 25 seats of the region in the coming general Parliament election scheduled next year.
The BJP was officially founded on 6 April 1980 by Atal Bihari Vajpayee and L K Advani after splitting from Janata Party.
