Agartala: Dec 30: Despite strict border surveillance, human trafficking continues unabated. A Bangladeshi national and his accomplice were apprehended by the Border Security Force (BSF) for illegally crossing the border into India. The incident occurred in the Samurupur area, under the Kailashahar police station jurisdiction.
The arrested Bangladeshi national is identified as Sujon Almik, a 19-year-old from the Srimangal area of the Moulvibazar district in Bangladesh. His accomplice, the trafficker, has been identified as Matilal Munda, a resident of the Manu Valley area in Kailashahar. The two were caught during a routine night patrol by the BSF.
On Monday afternoon, the BSF handed over both the Bangladeshi national and the trafficker to the Kailashahar police for further legal proceedings. This incident highlights the ongoing issue of illegal border crossings, despite the heightened vigilance by border security forces. Human trafficking remains a persistent challenge, with individuals attempting to cross borders illegally for various reasons, often with the help of traffickers. The authorities continue to work on strengthening border security measures to curb such illegal activities, but these incidents reveal the complex nature of the issue and the need for more effective intervention.
