Agartala, May 17: The Governor of Tripura has officially appointed senior IPS officer Anurag as the new Director General of Police (DGP) of the state. The appointment comes as part of the state government’s ongoing efforts to strengthen the law enforcement apparatus and ensure efficient policing across Tripura.
Anurag, a 1994-batch IPS officer, brings with him decades of experience in various key positions within the police and security establishment. Known for his disciplined approach and administrative efficiency, he has previously served in different capacities in Tripura and other parts of the country. His appointment as the DGP is expected to add new momentum to the state’s police administration.
The Governor’s decision to appoint Anurag was based on recommendations made by the state government and in line with the established procedures.
