Agartala-Lokmanya Tilak Terminus Express Derails at Dibalung Station

Agartala: Oct 17: The 12520 Agartala-Lokmanya Tilak Terminus Express derailed at Dibalung station in Agartala this morning. The engine and eight coaches of the train went off the tracks. Fortunately, there have been no reports of casualties or serious injuries.

A medical team has been dispatched to the scene, and rescue and restoration work has commenced under the supervision of senior officials from the Lumding division. Train operations on the Lumding-Badarpur single line section have been temporarily suspended. Helpline numbers for Lumding have been issued: 03674263120 and 03674263126.

Kopinjal Kishore Sharma, Chief Public Relations Officer of Northeast Frontier Railway, stated that the rescue operation is ongoing. Alternative train arrangements are being made to transport passengers to their respective destinations. Currently, passengers are at Dibalung station, where Northeast Frontier Railway has provided water and food. An alternative train will soon take them to their destinations.
