Agartala: Mar 15: The police have arrested Badar Jamatia, accused of killing a dog. Dr. Ranbir Roy, representatives of Pawsome, and K-Nine organizations have demanded strict punishment for the accused. They have filed separate written complaints with the police and administration.
On March 11, in Gorjantali Hadrai Para, under Teliamura police station, Teliamura, an act of extreme cruelty was committed against an innocent dog. Biswapkha Jamatia, also known as Badarhari, was seen brutally beating a dog multiple times until it died. This incident was witnessed through a viral video uploaded on social media on March 11. His acquaintance, Buchuk Jamatia, a resident of the same area in Teliamura, was also mentioned.
Following this, various social organizations raised their voices against the incident. The Teliamura police began efforts to apprehend the accused. Additionally, Tipramatha party supremo Pradyut Kishore expressed his concerns on social media. A case was also filed at the West police station. Meanwhile, the Teliamura police formed a team to investigate the incident and capture the accused, who was in hiding.
Finally, around 12 PM on Saturday, the police managed to arrest Biswapkha Jamatia, also known as Badarhari, accused of the brutal killing of an innocent animal. The Teliamura police stated that the accused was arrested on Saturday and would be presented in Khowai court on Sunday.
