Agartala October 10: The government launched the PDS system to control commodity prices. The government is closing the opportunity to increase the price unnecessarily. This was said by Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha while speaking at the official inauguration ceremony of supply of mustard oil and other commodities at affordable prices and provision of free canvas bags in public distribution system on the occasion of upcoming Sharadotsav at Rabindra Satabarshiki Bhavan.

Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister said that this government is a problem-solving government. This government does not have the mentality to remain in the government after living with the problems like the previous government. The mentality of this government is to solve people’s problems and serve them. This organization believes in government service. So the government is working with service mentality to make one Tripura the best Tripura. In the organized event, the Chief Minister mentioned the issue of employment and said that the government cannot solve the problem of employment. The government is giving importance to various aspects to create employment. The government is finding employment avenues for the unemployed through various developmental works including Akhara border railway and Special Economic Zone. The Chief Minister also said that this government is going to come up with Mukhya Mantri Arogya Yojana for special treatment of the people of the state. Common people will benefit from it. After the launch of this system, it was decided to give mustard oil to 9 lakh 70 thousand consumers through ration shops in the first state. These items will be provided through 2056 ration shops.

Three supply orders were received at a bid of Rs 128. A canvas bag will contain 1 kg of masoor dal, 1 kg of sugar, 2 kg of flour, 500 grams of semolina and anta. Each of which is priced at 68 rupees. The department will spend six and a half crore rupees. 3 lakh 58 thousand bags arrived from outside the state. The rest of the bags will arrive soon. This canvas bag was launched by the Chief Minister. The central government has directed to conduct model ration shops. It has been initially decided to select 600 ration shops from eight districts out of 2056 ration shops and convert them into model ration shops. The Chief Minister also launched this model ration shop on this day. Department Minister Sushanta Chowdhury, Mayor Deepak Majumder, Food Public Procurement and Consumer Affairs Department Special Secretary Rabal Hemendra Kumar and other officials were present in the organized event.
