Agartala, Oct 15: Tripura Forest Minister Animesh Debbarma on Thursday inaugurated three newly constructed classrooms and three laboratories at Asharambari Higher Secondary School in Khowai district, officials said.
The facilities, located in the minister’s Assembly constituency, are expected to strengthen the school’s infrastructure and provide students with improved opportunities for classroom instruction and practical learning.
The inauguration programme was attended by the Additional District Magistrate of Khowai, the Block Development Officer of Tulashikhar and other officials.
Addressing the gathering, Debbarma said development should be measured by the positive changes it brings to people’s lives rather than merely by the size of buildings or the number of projects announced.
He emphasised that public infrastructure must be completed within the stipulated timeframe, properly maintained and effectively utilised to ensure that it serves its intended purpose and benefits the people.
The minister also highlighted his longstanding association with Khowai, describing his roots in the area as an integral part of his identity. He said his responsibilities extended to every citizen of Tripura.
Debbarma stressed the importance of improving educational facilities, creating opportunities for young people and promoting development at the grassroots level.
He urged government officials and public representatives to adopt a results-oriented approach and ensure that development initiatives translate into tangible benefits for ordinary people.
The minister said the effectiveness of public projects should be assessed by their impact on people’s lives and their ability to address local needs.
The three classrooms are expected to provide additional space for academic activities, while the laboratories will facilitate practical education and help students gain hands-on learning experience.
The new facilities are aimed at creating a more conducive learning environment at Asharambari Higher Secondary School and strengthening educational infrastructure in the surrounding area.
Officials from the district administration and the local development block attended the programme.
The inauguration marks an addition to the educational infrastructure in Khowai district, with the new facilities expected to support the school’s academic activities and improve access to practical learning.
Debbarma also called for accountability in the implementation of development projects, stressing timely completion, regular maintenance and effective utilisation of public assets.
He urged officials to ensure that infrastructure investments achieve their intended objectives and contribute meaningfully to improving the quality of life of people across Tripura.
