Agartala: Former Tripura Chief Minister and Lok Sabha MP from West Tripura, Biplab Kumar Deb, has hailed the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) strong performance in the West Bengal Assembly elections, calling it a clear mandate for development, good governance, and stability.

In a statement issued on Monday via social media, Deb congratulated the people of West Bengal and BJP workers for their efforts, attributing the outcome to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s strategy, and the party’s organisational strength.

Deb said the verdict reflects the electorate’s rejection of what he described as “politics of fear, appeasement, and mismanagement,” and their preference for a transparent and development-oriented government. “The people of Bengal have chosen progress and stability. This mandate shows their desire for a government that can ensure growth and prosperity,” he stated.

Speaking to journalists, Deb expressed confidence in the BJP’s prospects, saying, “Defeat is not written in my stars; I have come to Bengal to establish a BJP government.” He added that the results underline a growing demand among citizens for transformation and effective governance.

Describing the outcome as a “victory for the people,” Deb stressed that the BJP remains committed to fulfilling public aspirations and delivering on its promises. He noted that the party’s expanding footprint across states indicates a shift in the national political landscape.

Deb also referred to the BJP’s success in the Dharmanagar by-election in Tripura as further evidence of continued public support. He said the combined results across states highlight increasing confidence in the BJP’s governance model and signal a broader trend toward development-driven politics in the country.
