Agartala: Tipra Motha Party (TMP) founder Pradyot Kishore Deb Barma on Monday congratulated the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for its sweeping performance in the West Bengal Assembly elections, describing the outcome as a “stupendous victory” and a significant moment in India’s evolving political landscape.

In a statement shared on social media, Deb Barma credited the BJP’s success to the combined efforts of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, and Tripura MP Biplab Kumar Deb, who played a key role in overseeing the party’s campaign in Bengal. He said the scale of the victory reflects strong organisational coordination and voter confidence in the party’s leadership.

“The effort by PM Modi, Amit Shah and in-charge Biplab Deb has resulted in a decisive mandate,” he noted, highlighting what he described as a major political shift in the state.

Deb Barma also pointed to developments beyond West Bengal, observing that the Left’s defeat in Kerala signals the end of communist-led governments in India after decades of political influence. He described this as a notable shift in the country’s ideological landscape.

Referring to southern India, he mentioned the emergence of actor-turned-politician Vijay in Tamil Nadu politics, calling it an indicator of changing voter preferences. In the Northeast, he praised Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, stating that his firm stance on issues like illegal immigration has translated into electoral gains.

According to Deb Barma, the results across multiple states reflect a broader national mood favouring decisive leadership, stability, and development-focused governance. He said the outcomes in West Bengal and Assam point to a larger political realignment, with voters increasingly opting for accountability and clear policy direction.

He added that these developments could shape future political trends across regions, reinforcing the importance of leadership-driven governance models.
