Agartala, July 11: In a shocking incident from Boxanagar in Tripura, an 11-year-old boy named Alif Hossain has allegedly been poisoned to death by his aunt, Jannat Akhtar. The tragic incident has left the local community in deep shock.
According to the victim’s family, Alif had gone to visit his maternal uncle’s house a few days ago. On the night of the incident, which occurred three days prior to his death, his aunt allegedly mixed poison into a mango juice and gave it to him. Shortly after consuming the juice, Alif’s health deteriorated rapidly.
He was initially taken to the Boxanagar Community Health Centre and later referred to Agartala’s GBP Hospital for further treatment. Despite two days of medical care, Alif succumbed to the poisoning on Thursday morning.
Following the boy’s death, a post-mortem examination was conducted at GBP Hospital, and the body was handed over to the family. After the incident, the accused aunt reportedly fled her in-laws’ house and took shelter at her parental home.
Family members of the deceased have alleged that Jannat Akhtar had ongoing domestic disputes with her husband. They believe that Alif became a target because his father had recently intervened in these issues, possibly triggering the alleged act of revenge.
The family has announced plans to file an official complaint against Jannat Akhtar at the local police station. As the investigation unfolds, police are expected to take action based on the family’s statements and the medical reports.
The heartbreaking death of young Alif has cast a shadow of mourning across the entire community, with residents demanding justice and a thorough probe into the matter.
