Agartala, June 25:
In a major outreach initiative, the Tripura government has launched the “Dharti Aba Janjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan,” a state-wide campaign running from June 15 to June 30. The mission focuses on protecting the rights of tribal communities, addressing long-standing socio-economic challenges, and promoting financial independence.

The campaign is actively engaging with residents in remote and rural tribal regions through awareness camps and doorstep delivery of government welfare services. Officials are prioritizing direct interaction with indigenous populations to ensure the benefits of various schemes reach every household.

Transport and Tourism Minister Sushanta Chowdhury, who is overseeing the initiative, chaired a district-level review meeting on Wednesday at the Sepahijala District Magistrate’s Conference Hall. The meeting was attended by Zilla Sabhadhipati, MLAs, local representatives, and senior administrative officials.

The review session assessed the campaign’s progress, evaluated grassroots engagement efforts, and discussed solutions to implementation challenges.

“This campaign is not just about delivering welfare—it’s about true empowerment,” said Minister Chowdhury. “We are committed to ensuring that tribal communities have access to healthcare, education, self-employment opportunities, and financial inclusion. The goal is to build a foundation for sustainable development and dignity.”

He further stressed the importance of government-tribal relations, adding, “Real progress is only possible when every community moves forward together.”

Officials noted that the campaign aligns with the state’s broader goals of inclusive development and social justice. By delivering services and information directly to the people, the initiative aims to close existing gaps in access and awareness.

With the campaign now in its final phase, authorities are working to ensure maximum participation and benefit coverage across all tribal-dominated regions of Tripura.
