During a media address, a worker highlighted that in 2018, the BJP government in Tripura had made several promises, including providing employment to the unemployed and creating a drug-free state. However, he claimed that these promises remain unfulfilled, and the youth are increasingly affected by drug-related issues.

The worker further stated that drug addiction has led to increased incidents of violence, harassment, and other anti-social activities among the youth. He also alleged that members of the ruling party are involved in these issues. The Congress has voiced its concerns through this protest.
