Yaba tablets worth Rs three lakh seized

Agartala July 18: On the way to enter the state, two young women from the state and outside the state were arrested by the police of Damchara police station along with Yaba tablets worth Rs 300,000. On Tuesday morning, under the command of Raju Bhowmik, OC of North Tripura district’s Damchara police station, the police intercepted an ION vehicle number AS-11F-4400 coming from Assam at East Radha Kishore Pur Naka point on the Tripura-Assam border.

600 Yaba tablets in 3 packets were recovered from the young woman in the car. The young woman was arrested. The arrested are Karanti Reang, aged 28, a resident of Bahadur Para under Khedachra police station and Kabir Ahmed (24) of Patharkandi in Karimganj district of Assam. Two mobile phones were recovered from the arrested. Raju Bhowmik, OC of Damchara Police Station, said that this success was achieved by carrying out an operation based on secret information. The black market value of the recovered Yaba tablets is estimated to be Rs. 3 lac.
