World Pharmacists Day 2024 Celebrated at RIPSA, Agartala

Agartala, September 25: World Pharmacists Day 2024 was marked by a significant event at the RIPSA campus in Agartala. The occasion also saw the formal inauguration of the newly constructed Girls’ Hostel at RIPSA. The Chief Minister of Tripura, Dr. Manik Saha, commenced the program by lighting a ceremonial lamp. Following this, he inaugurated the Girls’ Hostel by cutting the ribbon and unveiling the plaque.

In his address, Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha highlighted RIPSA as a source of pride for Tripura. He noted that students from various northeastern states come to RIPSA for their studies and emphasized his regular inquiries about the institution. Dr. Saha reiterated the Prime Minister’s stance that India’s development is intertwined with the development of the Northeast. He pointed out the significant reduction in extremism in the region, attributing this progress to the leadership of the Prime Minister and the Union Home Minister. He mentioned that many former extremists have recently renounced violence and rejoined mainstream society.

Dr. Saha also referred to the Prime Minister’s vision of the northeastern states as “Ashtalakshmi” and affirmed the state government’s commitment to the development of Tripura and the Northeast. He acknowledged the variety of courses offered at RIPSA and the enrollment of students from various states, including the Northeast. Addressing the faculty shortage at RIPSA, he mentioned that the Health Secretary has been directed to take necessary actions.

The event was attended by several dignitaries, including Health Secretary Kiran Gitte and the Mission Director of the National Health Mission, along with other officials. The presence of RIPSA students was notably significant at the event.
