Agartala, June 13: In a significant development in the ongoing anti-drug campaign, the Damchara police station has once again achieved success. Following the recent seizure of 25 kg of heroin valued at Rs 25 crore, the police have now recovered 26 kg of dry ganja within a span of 48 hours.

Acting on confidential information, the police apprehended two women from Narendranagar. The suspects are identified as Shalini Das (27 years old), a resident of North 24 Parganas, West Bengal, and Azmeri Begum (32 years old), hailing from Vaishali, Bihar. The seized dry ganja, packaged in ten packets, has an estimated black market value of approximately three lakh rupees.

The arrested individuals have been transferred to the Dharmanagar Mahila Police Station and will subsequently face legal proceedings. An NDPS (Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances) case has been registered against them, and authorities plan to seek remand for further investigation. It is anticipated that valuable information will emerge during their interrogation.
