Agartala: August 17: The body of a tribal woman was found in her own house. The incident has caused a great stir in the area near Rani’s Farm Santhi Sangha Club. The police initially suspect that the woman was murdered by her husband. The police have taken up a case of unnatural death and started an investigation. Police officials said that the cause of death will be known after the post-mortem. It is learned that a couple worked at Krishna Das’s rubber plantation, adjacent to Rani’s Farm Santhi Sangha Club, which falls under Amtali police station. Vishwajit Debbarma and his wife Sari Debbarma from Dhumachar area of Dhalai district have been living in a house on the rubber plantation for the past three years. However, Sari Debbarma’s body was found in her own house last night. The locals immediately informed the Amtali police station after witnessing the incident. Today morning, the OC of Amtali police station, Ranjit Debnath, along with other police personnel, rushed to the spot. Meanwhile, the forensic team and the SDPO of Amtali, Shankar Chandra Das, also rushed to the spot upon receiving the news. The police arrested the woman’s husband, Vishwajit Debbarma, and took him to the police station. The police have recovered the body and sent it to Hapania Hospital for post-mortem. The police have registered a case and started a thorough investigation. Both the police and the local residents suspect that the woman was murdered by her husband.”
