Agartala: June 09: On Sunday afternoon, the Minister of Tourism, Sushanta Chowdhury, inaugurated a voluntary blood donation camp organized by the BJP’s Tribal Morcha in 10-Majlishpur Mandal. The event took place at the Barjala Binapanibani School premises under the Jiranian Panchayat Samiti of Majlishpur Assembly Constituency.
In his inaugural address, Minister Chowdhury emphasized the importance of inspiring and motivating people to participate in humanitarian activities. He highlighted the goal of reducing suffering within the community through such initiatives.
The minister called upon voluntary organizations, NGOs, and the public to actively donate blood. Their contributions would help maintain adequate blood stocks in hospitals across the state, especially during emergencies.
Minister Chowdhury encouraged healthy individuals to donate blood, emphasizing that anyone up to the age of 65 can participate. Regular blood donation, he noted, has health benefits, including reducing the risk of heart attacks, controlling blood pressure, and lowering cholesterol levels.
He also praised the Honorable Chief Minister’s efforts in promoting voluntary blood donation, turning these events into festive occasions. The ongoing blood collection drive in Majlishpur Mandal aims to collect 500 units of blood.
During the event, the minister personally visited the blood donation camp, expressing gratitude to all donors for their service. He wished them good health and a bright future.
Other dignitaries present included Majlishpur Mandal President Gouranga Bhowmik, Jiranian Panchayat Samiti Vice Chairman Pritam Devnath, and Tribal Morcha Mandal President Sudhan Debbarma.
