Agartala: Agartala city has been witnessing a surge in theft and snatching incidents over the past few months. Areas like Chanmari, SDO Chowmuhani, and Ramnagar have been particularly affected. Despite numerous complaints filed at the police station, these incidents continued unabated. In response, the West District Police formed a special team to scrutinize the city’s CCTV footage.

Upon analyzing the footage, the police identified two individuals using a Glamour bike to carry out these thefts. Further investigation revealed their involvement in previous theft cases as well. Subsequently, the police apprehended the two suspects, identified as Samir Mia and Bapon Nandi. Samir Mia resides in Bhathi Abhaynagar, while Bapon Nandi hails from Madhya Bhuvanban.
