The Tripura Rural Livelihood Mission (TRLM) State officials solemnly observed National Voters’ Day by taking the Electors’ Pledge, reaffirming their collective commitment to uphold democratic principles, promote informed participation and recognize the power and responsibility vested in every citizen’s vote. The programme was presided over by TRLM Chief Executive Officer Tarit Kanti Chakma, who administered the Electors’ Pledge in the presence of senior officials and staff members. The event served as a platform to highlight the role of awareness, integrity and participation in strengthening India’s electoral system and democratic institutions.

Addressing the gathering, officials emphasized that National Voters’ Day is not merely a ceremonial observance but a meaningful reminder of the fundamental role citizens play in shaping governance and public policy. They noted that democracy thrives when citizens are informed, vigilant and proactive in exercising their voting rights. The pledge symbolized a renewed commitment to these ideals and encouraged officials to uphold democratic values both in their professional and personal lives.

The occasion also reinforced the responsibility of TRLM officials to act as ambassadors of democracy, particularly in rural and community-based settings. By encouraging voter awareness and participation, officials can help ensure that marginalized and underserved communities fully engage in the electoral process and make their voices heard.

Speaking on the occasion, CEO Tarit Kanti Chakma stated that the initiative reflects the broader nationwide effort to mark National Voters’ Day, which is celebrated annually to inspire confidence in the electoral system and remind citizens of their duty to safeguard democratic institutions. He stressed that every vote counts and that responsible participation is essential for inclusive and transparent governance.

The observance concluded with a collective resolve among TRLM officials to continue promoting democratic awareness and civic responsibility, thereby contributing to a stronger, more participatory democracy.
